Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the In-House Diagnostics (IHD) business in Other Europe (Nordics, Benelux, Switzerland, South Africa, Eastern Europe). Measure product line margins at various dimensions and assess overall country profitability. Prepare Price/Volume analysis, gains/losses at the customer level, and sources of growth analyses in support of the profitable growth strategies. Work closely with several shared service functional managers in analyzing/monitoring financial performance of their functional spending.
Support the development and maintenance of business models to justify Go-To Market strategy, marketing programs, New Business Development opportunities, and other organizational investments. As part of a cross functional team, identify areas of improvement and propose ways to improve operating efficiencies. Be an ambassador of management reporting and as such work to optimize the system and report delivery to allow for timely and educated decision making processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze monthly and quarterly results of operations with focus on IHD business. Prepare monthly analysis of price/volume/currency and product mix impact on Gross Margin. Prepare detailed explanations for comparisons to prior year, forecast, and budget.
- Support annual Strategic planning process.
- Coordinate and support the execution of the annual budgeting process with the European CAG Organization. Work with Country/Sales Managers to develop volume and revenue plans, and corresponding operating expenses. Update and maintain revenue templates for revenue planning and budget templates for cost center expense planning. Analyze changes to prior year and provide relevant explanations. Highlight risks and opportunities and potential mitigation plans.
- Coordinate and support quarterly P&L re-forecasting for the IHD line of business. Support as needed the preparation of analytical and supplemental informational requests from Corporate FP&A and lines of businesses Finance.
- Support GL Accounting to ensure management accountability and adherence to budget/forecast spending levels. Work closely with GL Accounting to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain business analysis and financial models (e.g. instrument penetration model, consumable utilization, instrument trade up/trade in etc). Provide training as needed and educate Country/Sales managers on the use of the model.
- Support as needed the tracking/reporting of marketing/sales programs and return on investments. Follow up with the product/country managers in understanding actual performance; assist in identifying potential solutions.
- Ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related business degree. MBA Degree is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum 4-6 years of experience in financial/business analysis position is required, including planning of revenue.
- Knowledge of gross margin analysis including price/volume/currency and product/country mix is required
- Experience in evaluating financial performance of marketing programs
- Experience in optimizing management reporting tools
- Knowledge of and experience at a worldwide operating organization
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Accounting.
- Team player.
- Detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines, self-starter.
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in cross functional teams, propose and implement solutions.
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non finance professionals.
- Advanced PC skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Experience with SAP R/3 (or other Enterprise systems) and TM1 (or other OLAP applications e.g. Hyperion, IBM Cognos, SAP BW, and/or Business Objects) is a plus.
Salary indication
Up to 60,000 Euro gross per annum
