About the Role
McAfee is looking for a talented, self motivated lawyer and experienced commercial lawyer to be the lead Legal Counsel for McAfee Netherlands, Benelux and Nordics (Scandinavia) region, providing a wide range of legal advice to the Northern European regional management team. This position has a focus on drafting and negotiating Partner and Customer contracts and working closely on revenue generating activities, but also entails working on employment, procurement, litigation and marketing related matters. This positions reports into the Senior Counsel for EMEA transactions.
This position in our EMEA legal team is working closely with our business partners and sales teams and you will be instrumental in McAfee achieving its targets for 2011 and beyond. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader and work in a fast paced environment within an established legal department.
Key Responsibilities
Be the point of contact for all commercial contract and other legal matters for that region. Cooperate with the different functions to identify the best legal solution
The main area of responsibility is the negotiation of all operational customer & partner Agreements for Netherlands, Benelux and the Nordics region, but also support the EMEA Legal team in regulatory matters and other projects if and when they come up.
Manage the relationship with external counsel
Provide training to Channel, Sales and Service departments
Work closely with internal EMEA & US based legal departments
Qualifications
Qualified Lawyer with solid in-house industry relevant experience
Substantial knowledge of IT and commercial law, IT security experience preferred
A self starter needing low level management time and being able to provide the best legal solutions in a fast changing environment
Strong result and goal orientation
Excellent English communication skills
Another European language is a distinct advantage
