Job description
The Business Development Manager Beverages has the responsibility for developing the non-alcoholic beverage segment (Bottled Water, Juice, Soft Drinks,...). The objective of this position is to grow our non alcoholic beverage business through end user contacts and sales development with key converters. The position is based in Leiden, The Netherlands, and reports to the Global Beer Segment Director. There is a dotted line to the Global Non-Alcoholic Beverages Director based in the US.
Key responsibilities include
Develop a solid network of relationships with decision makers at non-alcoholic beverage manufacturers (Procurement, Packaging Development, Marketing)
Develop deep understanding of key packaging trends in the beverage industry and derive implications for future label stock demand
In alignment with the Global Non-Alcoholic Beverages Director develop segment strategy for beverages and drive implementation
Provide market insights to Product Management and Product Development to ensure our product portfolio meets with customer needs
Initiate and support the development of industry specific solutions
Introduce new products to end users to generate a pull
Support sales force with detailed segment knowledge and support as industry expert in discussions with converters
Spot upcoming tenders of end users and align/coordinate our strategy towards different converters
Support annual StratPlan process for non alcoholic beverage segments
Together with Corporate Communications, develop and maintain a PR strategy, which positions the company as key brand in packaging for beverages
Represent company at key industry events and give presentations to increase our reputation among end users
Work with Corporate Communications to organize end user events promote dec tec transfer and generate demand for company products.
Support the Global Beer Segment Mgr on European Beer opportunities as needed.
Requirements
Masters degree in business, engineering or similar
At least 5-6 years of professional experiences in a customer facing role (e.g. Sales, Business Development)
Proven track record in building and maintaining customer relationships
Good knowledge of decision making processes for beverage labels
Previous experience with Packaging for Beverages and established network within beverage industry
Strong social skills. Able to build lasting trust based relationships with end users
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytic skills and good problem solver
Culturally sensitive and experienced to work in an international organization
Fluent in English, other European languages a definite plus (German, French, Spanish)
Internationally mobile for future career progression within company
Salary indication
