Main Tasks :



The Payroll Coordinator, reporting to the Assistant Payroll Manager Europe, provides detail-level payroll administration and payroll processing as part of the European Payroll team.

 Tasks and Responsibilities
* Accumulate, submit, control, correct, and communicate salary input information to external payroll processor in particular for Belgium stores (approx 155 associates), Sweden stores (approx 40 associates) and Denmark stores (approx 55 associates)
* Pension / Social Security / Taxes: keep the organization, Finance and HR Departments up to date with changes in Dutch social security taxes, wages and tax requirements and monitor the effect of these changes on the company. Pension Administration; submit and control pension changes to our pension insurance company.
* Sarbanes Oxley Requirements: the payroll coordinator ensures compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley guidelines. On a monthly basis the controls need to be performed and signed off. Any discrepancies need to be reported to the Assistant Payroll Manager Europe for follow up.
* Remuneration and the shadow payroll for Expatriates.
* Account reconciliation’s  (People Soft).
* Account reconciliation’s and General Ledger checking, making journal entries in PeopleSoft Financial System and involvement in PeopleSoft Project (automation of European Payroll). The Payroll Coordinator provides the Assistant Payroll Manager Europe with feedback on queries, issues or new legislative adjustments that might be developed or enhanced.
* Support for Assistant Payroll Manager Europe, as needed.
* Other duties and special projects as requested by management.
* Entry related wire transfers and make payments.
* Be the 1st back-up for the complete payroll process in Belgium (approx 155 associates), Sweden (approx 40 associates) and Denmark (approx 55 associates).

* Generate reports; provide personnel information for control purposes.
* Pension / Social Security / Taxes: keep the organization, Finance and HR Departments up to date with changes in country local social security taxes, wages and tax requirements and monitor the effect of these changes on the company.

 

 Requirements :
* PDL diploma and minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position;
* Knowledge of Social Security, taxes and employment legislation in Europe in general and The Netherlands specific - other countries are a plus;
* Knowledge of Dutch social security, taxes and employment legislation in Europe
* Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills (Power Point and Access skills a plus);
* Good command of English - written & verbal; knowledge of other European languages is a plus;
* Knowledge of Perman (ADP) and People Soft experience is a plus;
* Ability to work under pressure and with outside organizations (Payroll vendors, governmental organizations, Tax authorities);
* Energetic, initiative and service oriented personality;
* Excellent internal communication skills for partnering with other departments in the organization such as HR and Operations.
