This position is based in Tokyo, Japan.
The area: YouTube and Video
The first video posted on YouTube was a 19-second clip called "Me at the Zoo."Â Today, more than 48 hours of video are uploaded every minute. The YouTube and Video team helps budding filmmakers and musicians build careers, creates products like Google TV and YouTube Live and runs collaborative projects like Life in a Day and the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. We are leading a change in how we entertain, inform and share with one another, whether through cat videos or footage of a revolution in progress.
The role: Head of Video Partnerships, YouTube Japan
Google's line of products and services to clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for striking and negotiating deals with Google's partners. Armed with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line, building pipeline, negotiating deals and helping partners build sales and account management functions. You also manage revenue creation and growth with our partners as part of our next generation of product launches. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players help shape great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.
Responsibilities:
* Initiate, structure, and negotiate high-impact strategic content partnerships.
* Manage and optimize existing partnerships to maximize revenues and user experience.
* Prioritize deal and business line development through analysis and deep understanding of YouTube's product roadmap.
* Define content acquisition vertical strategies, decide where to focus efforts, and choose mix of acquisition channels/methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
* Strong online sales and business-development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* MBA, MS or other advanced degree.
* Extensive experience in digital distribution/acquisition experience in a senior position in addition to excellent relationships with senior level executives in the content industry in Japan and other regions in Asia
* Ability to negotiate contracts, interpret legal documents and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with fluency in Japanese and English
* Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills with the ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment and work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
* Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and externally while multi-tasking and managing competing priorities; must be able to work under time constraints and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, collaborative and highly creative environment while being able to work independently and as part of a team.
