Job description
You’ll manage and lead the global Transit Data Engineering Team. This team is responsible for the analysis of new external transit sources, the building and maintenance of transit data conversion routines, the initial execution of these newly build routines, R&D support on external transit data and Production support on transit data piping in general. Team members are located in Fargo, Veldhoven and going forward: Mumbai.
- Supervising the processes for the conversion and use of external transit sources in the creation and maintenance of the transit database.
- Managing and leading the global team of Transit data specialists, including performance planning and –reviews, daily administrative tasks, resource planning, budgeting, tracking, etc.
- Planning and monitoring of incoming and processing of new transit sources
- Working with the Director GISDIG on communication of complexity, challenges and issues of transit piping to various levels within the company to make sure the right support is received.
- Communication with Product Marketing, Production, Sourcing, DMO (Digital Mapping Organization) and others on progress, issues, etc.
- Further development of Transit piping processes, including documentation, processing steps, ISO certification and tool development.
- Further development of the Transit Engineering team – training, identification and possibly realization of required growth, different setup, etc.
- Maintaining a good understanding of Transit data conversions tools, databases, coming new requirements, changes in spec, database content and the various tools and technologies utilized for database creation and maintenance
- Maintaining a good understanding of organizational structure, especially the DICI Platform, PM regional and global focused on Transit, R&D Map Expansion and Production
Requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical, related subject
- You have a minimum of 7 years related work experience
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills
- You have strong people management skills and experience. Experience with remote, international teams.
- You have the eagerness to set up and develop a team, working on a very immature process in a very dynamic and undefined environment
- You have good understanding of ETL tools, preferably FME. Other spatial packages such as ArcGIS are preferred.
- You’re fluent in English, other languages preferred.
- You have the willingness and ability to travel
