In support of ESA’s Technical Directorate at ESTEC we are looking for a:
Electrical & Functional AIT Engineer for Gaia
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
• Supporting the execution and following up of activities on the Avionics Model (AVM). This shall include definition, preparation, execution and test evaluation for all equipment Integration & Test (I&T) activities, all Integrated Subsystem Tests (ISSTs), as well as the Integrated System Tests (ISTs). This task shall be executed in cooperation with the project local representative and the relevant specialists for CDMS, Power, AOCS, RF and CSW from the Service Module and S/W section;
• Supporting the Service Module and Spacecraft level electrical and functional AIT campaign(s). This shall include definition, preparation, execution and test evaluation for all equipment Integration & Test (I&T) activities, all Integrated Subsystem Tests (ISSTs), as well as the Integrated System Tests (ISTs). This task shall be executed in cooperation with the Project local representative and the relevant specialists for CDMS, Power, AOCS, RF and CSW from the Service Module and S/W section;
• Supporting the Payload Module section for the Payload Module electrical and functional AIT campaign(s). This shall include contribution to definition, preparation, execution and test evaluation for all equipment Integration & Test (I&T) activities, all Integrated Subsystem Tests (ISSTs), as well as the Integrated System Tests (ISTs);
• Providing support for the electrical and functional activities related to the launch preparation;
• Providing other general support to the project as required.
Skills and Experience:
• University Degree in Electrical, Optical, Aerospace or equivalent engineering discipline;
• Several years of professional experience, including functional AIT of spacecraft;
• Experience on spacecraft AIT campaigns on other ESA missions.
• Availability to witness tests and to participate to AIT activities for relatively long periods abroad
• Sufficient knowledge of French to allow the candidate to attend working meetings in that language is considered a major asset.
• Fluent in English;
