In support of ESA’s Technical Directorate at ESTEC we are looking for a:
AIT Engineer for LISA Pathfinder Project
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
Within the LISA Pathfinder Project, the candidate will report to the Mission & Payload Manager. She/he will take responsibility for monitoring the Optical Metrology System (OMS) AIT campaign, both for the FM equipment and for the qualification equipment (TOQM). Within the Project guidelines and constraints set, his duties will include:
• Performing AIT tasks as ESA Support Engineer in liaison with Astrium (FN) and AEI (Albert Einstein Institute) teams;
• Following up the preparation and updating of test procedures for Optical Metrology Sub-system FM Test Campaign, and attending the related preparation meetings;
• Supporting the TRRs ;
• Ensuring the h/w, s/w, GSE and facility configurations are adequate;
• Following up all the OMS FM test campaign at AEI in Hannover;
• Following up the MAIT of the Thermo-Optical Qualification Model (TOQM) at ASD (Friedrichshafen) and at the test house;
• Following up the uploading for new OMS DMU software versions, Database and APs ;
• Supporting all the NCRs process, NRB meetings and all additional problem investigation tests;
• Supporting the Post Test Reviews at the end of the test campaigns;
• Reporting to the LPF Project Office, and attending various meetings at ESTEC.
Skills and Experience:
• University Degree in Electrical, Optical, Aerospace or equivalent engineering discipline;
• Several years of professional experience, including functional AIT of spacecraft;
• Experience in optical instrumentation and payloads functional tests in space missions;
• Experience in instrument integration and system integration and testing is desirable;
• Ability to work in a project team with a drive for timely results and a sense of cooperation and negotiation with colleagues at ESA, industry or academia;
• The function will require availability of the incumbent to witness tests and to participate to AIT activities for relatively long periods abroad;
• Fluent in English.
