Randstad was founded in 1960 by Frits Goldschmeding. Since then we haveexpanded to more than 40 countries, representing more than 90 percent of the global HR services market. Following the acquisition of Vedior in July 2008, we are now the second largest HR services provider in the world. Our mission is to be aworld leader in matching demand for and supply of labor and HR services. In doing so, we continue to apply our founding ethos: “to know, to serve, totrust.” We believe in the value of work as a unifying force that shapes societyfor the better.

Temporary staffing, permanent placement and (high-volume) specialties (these are specific market segments on which dedicated units focus) are our core business. A key factor that differentiates Randstad from other companies is our unique unit structure. Each unit consists of two consultants who are responsible for both client service and candidate selection. They work as a team, ensuring one is always available to our clients and candidates. The teams are often dedicated to specific specialties, such as Randstad Callflex which specializes in Customer Service or Sales contact center personnel. The consultants are experts in the local labor market, and become experts in their clients’ businesses,understanding their needs and the candidate profile that best meets them. They recruit temporary or permanent employees and make the match.
